As mobile device payments are quickly becoming more popular with retailers, and online shopping is becoming more common than ever before, we want to make sure our members have access to the latest technology and convenience out there. We are excited to announce that you can now add your CommonWealth Debit and Credit Cards to your Digital Wallets, allowing you to quickly and securely pay for purchases directly from your mobile device using Apple Pay®, Google Pay™, or Samsung Pay®. CommonWealth Debit Cards, Passport Visa Platinum Credit Cards and Cash Back Visa Platinum Credit Cards are all eligible!

  • Apple Pay®

    Now you can enjoy all the benefits of your CommonWealth Credit and Debit Cards using Apple Pay® on your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch devices. Apple Pay® changes how you pay with breakthrough contactless payment technology and unique security features built right into your iPhone. It is the easy, secure, and private way to pay.

    To add your CommonWealth Credit or Debit Card to Apple Pay®, you can do any of the following:

    • Use your camera to instantly capture your card information.
    • Simply enter your card information manually. 
    • Or, just add your CommonWealth Credit or Debit Card from your iTunes account to Apple Pay®.
    • You may also have to complete your card activation by calling the Call Center at (800) 564-1588 during regular business hours.

    How to use:

    • To pay in stores, just hold your iPhone near the contactless reader with your finger on Touch ID or simply use FaceID.
    • To pay within apps, checking out is as easy as selecting “Apple Pay®”.

    What is Apple Pay®?

    • Apple Pay® is a payment feature integrated into the Wallet® app on your iOS device that lets you add your credit and/or debit cards to Apple Pay® to make purchases at participating retailers in stores, using Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, or in app.

    How secure is Apple Pay®?

    • Apple Pay® is safer than using a plastic credit, debit, or prepaid card. Every transaction on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac requires you to authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode. Your card number and identity aren’t shared with the merchant, and your actual card numbers aren’t stored on your device or on Apple servers.

    Will I continue to earn rewards and benefits from my CommonWealth Credit and Debit cards when I pay using Apple Pay®?

    • Yes, when you pay with your CommonWealth Visa or Debit Card using Apple Pay®, you still get all the rewards, benefits, and securities your card provides.

    Is there a fee associated with using Apple Pay®?

    • There is no cost for Apple Pay® from CommonWealth. However, an active data plan is required. Based on your wireless plan and mobile carrier's offering, additional message and data charges may apply.

    Can I use Apple Pay® outside of the U.S.?

    • As long as you're shopping at a participating retailer, Apple Pay® will work outside of the U.S. Depending on your wireless plan and mobile carrier's offering, additional message data charges and foreign transaction fees may apply. Please be sure to let us know before you travel so we can place a Travel Alert on your account. Travel Alerts will help prevent your card from being flagged for suspicious activity while you travel.

  • Google Pay™

    Google Pay™ is the fast, simple way to pay with your CommonWealth Credit or Debit Card in stores, in apps and online.

    How to set up:

    • Check for the app on your phone, as Google Pay™ comes preloaded on several devices. If your phone does not already have the app, you can download it from Google Play. Google Pay™ works on Android devices running Android Lollipop 5.0 and above.
    • You can add your CommonWealth card by opening the Google Pay™ app and taking a picture of your card, or manually entering your card number.
    • Once you register you will have to complete your card activation by calling the Call Center at (800) 564-1588 during regular business hours.

    How to use:

    • To pay in stores, just hold your phone above the contactless reader and follow any prompts that may come up.
    • To pay within apps, you can simply select “Google Pay™” when checking out.

    What is Google Pay™?

    • Google Pay™ provides owners of Android® devices the ability to use their Android phone to make in store, in-app and online payments using your CommonWealth Credit or Debit Card.

    What is a device account number?

    • A device account number (token) is a substitute account number that replaces your card number in each transaction.  This means that your actual information isn’t shared when you shop and all your details stay safe.

    Will I continue to earn rewards and benefits from my CommonWealth Credit and Debit cards when I pay using Google Pay™?

    • Yes, when you pay with your CommonWealth Visa or Debit Card using Google Pay™, you still get all the rewards, benefits, and securities your card provides.

    Introducing Samsung Pay®, the mobile payment service that works virtually anywhere you can swipe or tap your card. From local grocery stores to corner coffee shops, it’s highly secure and simple to use with the latest Samsung Galaxy Devices. Samsung Pay® was designed to make paying with your phone fast, easy and convenient.

    How to add your CommonWealth card to Samsung Pay®:

    • You can easily add your CommonWealth Credit or Debit card to Samsung Pay® by either using your phone’s camera to scan in your card’s information, or manually inputting the card information yourself.
    • Once you register you will have to complete your card activation by calling the Call Center at (800) 564-1588 during regular business hours.

    How to use Samsung Pay®:

    • Swipe up from the bottom of your screen to launch the app.
    • Secure your transaction with fingerprint authentication.
    • Hover your device close to the card reader. A gentle vibration will let you know payment is being transmitted.

    What is Samsung Pay®?

    • Samsung Pay® is a safe and simple way to make mobile payments with select Samsung Galaxy phones, and it works at virtually any retailer where you can swipe or tap your card.

    Samsung Pay® secure?

    • Yes. Transactions are authorized with your fingerprint, so you’re in control of when each payment is made. Samsung Pay® doesn’t store or share your payment information.

    How do I return a purchase if I used Samsung Pay® to make the payment?

    • All purchases made through Samsung Pay® can be returned according to the store’s policies. If you return an item paid for through Samsung Pay®, the store may require you to hover your phone over either the card reader or the NFC reader to complete the return.

    How many cards can I add into Samsung Pay®?

    • You can add up to 10 cards using Samsung Pay®.
