How do I open a checking account?
You can open an account by filling out our membership application.
What do I need to open an account?
You will need your Social Security Number, a government-issued ID (i.e. State issued Driver's License/ ID, or Passport), proof of physical address (if the address on your government-issued ID is not current), a Debit/Credit card number to fund your new account, and $15 ($5 pays your one-time membership fee, and $10 will be deposited to your regular share/savings account).
Do I need to be a member to open a checking account?
You can open a checking account and apply to become a member at the same time.
How do I transfer funds to my new account?
It’s actually very easy to transfer money from another financial institution if they allow external transfers. To transfer funds from another financial institution, log into your account with that bank/credit union, select the option to transfer funds to another financial institution and enter CommonWealth’s routing number 321176794 and your account number
