Important information about how CommonWealth protects its members.

MEMBER PRIVACY
CommonWealth Central Credit Union respects the privacy of all our members. Any information provided to CommonWealth regarding our members is considered confidential. Access to member information is restricted to those employees who need access in order to provide services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards, and as recommended by respected auditing firms, in order to protect your nonpublic personal information.

At no time will CommonWealth sell information about our members to anyone. As a member-owned financial institution, our primary goal is to serve our members' financial needs.

All financial institutions are required by law to provide their customers (or in our case, members) with a Privacy Notice. It is intended to inform you about the kind of information CommonWealth Central Credit Union collects about you, how we protect that information, who receives that information, and finally, to allow you the opportunity to request that we refrain from sharing your information except as allowed by law.

Throughout this website, we provide links to other sites. These links are provided as a service to our members, however, CommonWealth is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of any website other than the one operated by CommonWealth.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We receive information about you in several different ways, in order to enhance our ability to serve your financial needs. We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

  • Information we receive from you on applications or other forms
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others
  • Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency or other data compilation firms
In addition, through our website and home banking provider, Digital Insight, we also collect the following information to monitor and improve service levels, or for security purposes:
  • Your internet provider address
  • Your access time and date
  • Any failed log-on attempts
  • Your user name and password
  • Clickstreams (the order that you look at our website pages)
Digital Insight also utilizes cookies (very small files sent to your browser for record-keeping purposes). Cookies record your passwords and preferences. They cannot be executed as code or deliver viruses. Your browser can be set to deliver a message when a cookie has been sent, allowing you to accept or reject it. In order to utilize CommonWealth's website and home banking services, you must accept all cookies. In order to enable our Enhanced Log In feature, the cookies will be stored on your computer on your internet browser and your Macromedia Flash player (for IE users only) to recognize CommonWealth's domain login screen.

INFORMATION WE SHARE
We may disclose all or some of the information we collect, as described above, to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf, to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements, and/or to other service providers, as described below:

  • Financial service providers, such as mortgage bankers, financial planners, securities brokers, insurance agents, and living trust service providers
  • Non-financial companies, such as auto brokers, mailing houses, research and data compilation firms
We may also disclose nonpublic personal information about you to nonaffiliated third parties as permitted by law.

If you choose to close your membership with CommonWealth, we will not disclose any of the information we have collected, except as permitted or required by law.

FAIR CREDIT REPORTING ACT DISCLOSURE
CommonWealth Central Credit Union may share information about you and your transactions, as permitted by law.

YOUR RIGHTS
If you prefer that we not disclose nonpublic personal information about you to nonaffiliated third parties, you may opt out of those disclosures. That is, you may direct us not to make those disclosures (other than disclosures permitted by law).

If you wish to opt out of disclosures to nonaffiliated third parties, you may call our Member Service Department toll free at (800) 564-1588 enter 2, or write to us at CommonWealth Central Credit Union, Opt Out, P.O. Box 641690, San Jose, CA 95164-1690.

You may choose to opt out at any time, or to revoke your request to opt out at any time.
